On Chromophobia
Do certain colors trigger associative effects that favor a negative or positive persistence within an image? Curious as to why some colors always appear in a work and others are avoided or used tentatively, I decided to work on a series of paintings that utilize colors that have negative and even loathsome associations for me, those that I find irresistable, those that I use almost unconsciously, and those which instill joy and feelings of visual pleasure. This is an experiment of sorts.
