Social Commentary on President Trump's 2017 Travel Ban

I started painting Borderland on November 9, 2016, the day after the elections. The painting was completed when President Trump signed numerous executive orders on immigration and the ability to travel freely in the world. The slogan “Made in America|” took on a new and ominous tone.
As an artist I felt compelled to visualize my concerns and fears on how these orders will effect the civil liberties of so many families and individuals who have called America their home.
